BON JOVI FINAL LEG DETAILS
Bon Jovi has added a few dates to the final leg of their Lost Highway world tour. Once the band wraps up concerts in Europe, they’ll come back to North America for gigs in Ontario (July 6th), Detroit (July 7th) and New York (July 14th and 15th). The new shows are in Boston on July 9th and 10th. A date for the tour finale in Central Park that Jon Bon Jovi told Sports Illustrated would be happening has yet to be announced. MADONNA TO BUILD SCHOOL IN MALAWI
Madonna is following in Oprah Winfrey’s footsteps. According to RollingStone.com, the Material Girl intends to build a girls’ school in Malawi, the country where her adopted son, David, was born. Oprah recently opened a school in South Africa. Madge’s lawyer says that the millions of dollars needed to fund the project should be confirmed in the next few weeks. The announcement comes just as Madonna is expected to finally be granted full custody of David.
AMY WINEHOUSE WON'T FACE CHARGES FOR VIDEO
It appears that singer Amy Winehouse has once again dodged the law. According to NME.com, Winehouse will not face charges after police obtained a video of the star smoking what appears to be an illegal substance. A spokesperson for Amy says, "(Police) have now concluded their enquiries and no charges will be brought."
MELISSA ETHERIDGE TOUR AND ALBUM
Melissa Etheridge plans to take her fans on a journey this summer. According to Billboard.com, the rocker will kick off her Revival Tour on June 15th in Clearwater, Florida and will spend the following 12 weeks on the road. Melissa commented about the trek, "I’m gonna tell you that story and show you how I have come to where I am now." The last date scheduled as of now is September 9th in Kansas City, Missouri. Once the tour ends, though, Etheridge won’t be silent. She’s recorded a holiday album, half standards and half originals, called A New Thought For Christmas. Melissa revealed that it’s not a typical Christmas album and added that "it’s one of the most rockin’ albums I’ve made." We’ll keep you posted on a release date.
THE JONAS BROTHERS GETTING LOTS OF AIRTIME
The Disney Channel's made-for-TV movie Camp Rock starring the Jonas Brothers will get a multi-platform release. According to Billboard.com, the flick will air the weekend of June 20th on three channels: the Disney Channel, ABC and ABC Family. It is being styled as Disney's next breakout hit, along the lines of High School Musical. The soundtrack to Camp Rock will drop on June 17th and the DVD will be released on August 19th. If that weren’t enough, premiering Friday on the Disney Channel will be the music-filled reality series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream. It airs at 7:55 PM. |
