FAMILY CONFIRMS CAREY/CANNON MARRIAGE
Family member Linda Cannon has confirmed to E! News that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are, in fact, married. She revealed, "He called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him.” Linda wouldn't confirm any other details except that the couple made it official. A rep for jeweler Jacob & Co. also confirmed that Cannon shelled out 2.5-million dollars for the 17-carat ring spotted recently on Carey's left hand. And People.com is reporting that Carey obtained a marriage license on the Caribbean island of Eleuthera. E! also learned that a florist at Eleuthera Florist said they prepared the bouquets for the wedding. The New York Post has reported that the nuptials took place at Carey's private estate off Eleuthera.
AVRIL CANCELLED SHOWS
Avril Lavigne cancelled two concerts on doctor's orders. According to People.com, the singer took to her blog to explain and apologize to her fans. She said, “I have been sick this whole tour, and now I have lost my voice. I have never canceled a show in my whole career and just had to for the first time ever. This sux!” She called off shows in San Diego and Phoenix after coming down with acute laryngitis. She said, “My voice is so shot. We drove home yesterday and I went to my throat doctor. He stuck a camera down my throat....ewwww, I gagged!!! It was kinda funny though.” Avril also revealed that she almost pulled out of an April 29th show at Las Vegas's The Pearl at The Palms but soldiered on. As of press time, Lavigne's tour was expected to resume Saturday in Anaheim, California.
SCOTT WEILAND IS JUST LIKE AXL ROSE
Former Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland is talking more about Axl Rose, this time, comparing himself to the Guns N’ Roses singer. Weiland told RollingStone.com about being ousted from VR, which features some of Axl’s old GN’R bandmates. Scott revealed, “I was in a band where at the end, it was pretty much three against one. And so I’m pretty sure that it felt that way to Axl as well.” The Stone Temple Pilots man continued, “Everyone has made Axl out to be this horrendously crazy person, this bad guy, and I don’t know him very well at all… My point being that having been in a band with Velvet Revolver for five and a half years, I’m not quite so sure that it was all Axl’s fault. It’s like, why does it always have to be the lead singer?” Weiland even states that all the guys in Velvet Revolver had baggage. He explains, “Matt Sorum [drummer] in front of my face, he was the sweetest guy in the world. But there were some times, out of the blue, the guy just randomly hated me.” Scott said that people were intrigued by the group since they were waiting for “a trainwreck to happen. They just thought it would happen a lot sooner.” You can read more at RollingStone.com.

3 DOORS DOWN MAY REALLY ROCK THIS SUMMER
3 Doors Down has a new self-titled album coming out this month on the 20th, and they’re already out on the road behind it. That trek ends real soon, though, and then the boys head on over to Europe for a short while. But the band is definitely known for their summer tours here in the States. So, what’s the plan once the weather gets hot? Singer Brad Arnold told us.
"You know what, it’s not set in stone yet, but hopefully when we get back from the European tour in June, hopefully this July and August, we really, really hope and it’s looking pretty probable, it’s just not for certain, that it’ll be us and Hinder and Staind out on tour this summer and I really look forward to that, I think that’ll be an awesome show and a great tour and I think it would be a lot of fun for us and the fans.”
