While SARAH JESSICA PARKER was in Los Angeles filming the "Sex and the City" movie, MATTHEW BRODERICK was back home in HER city . . . having sex with somebody else. 
--That's according to the "Star" tabloid, anyway.  They say Matthew was back in New York City having an affair with a, quote, "gorgeous red-headed youth counselor half his age."
--They're not together anymore, although when they were, her pet name for him was "Matty Cakes".  (???)
 

PAMELA ANDERSON shed some light on her relationship with TOMMY LEE yesterday on RYAN SEACREST'S radio show.  Here's the gist of it:  They're not actually together . . . but that could change.
--She said, quote, "We live together.  [But I'm] not 'with him', with him."
--She added, quote, "You never know what could happen.  I mean, we can't get rid of each other, we love each other, you know?  And it's kind of a funny, dysfunctional family like everybody else, but you know, hopefully one day we get it together.
--"If not, we're really good friends."
 

Here's the latest word on that incident between CHRISTIAN BALE and his mother and sister in London over the weekend.
--A friend of Christian's says there was NO ASSAULT . . . and that Christian just VERBALLY blew up at his mother after she said some insulting things . . . which included remarks about Bale's wife, Sandra Blazic.
--The source says, quote, "Christian was stressed, but he didn't lay a finger on anyone.  Instead, he flew off the handle and cussed his mother.  He just got very loud because his mother was saying some very outrageous things about him, and his wife.
--"Things got out of control and he now says he wishes he just left the room."
--Things have reportedly been tense between Christian and his mother since around 1992, when she made him choose between her and Christian's father.  (--Christian's parents were divorced by then and he would have been about 18.)
--Christian chose his father, and the two moved to Los Angeles, where his father became his manager.
--Christian . . . who reportedly does have a temper . . . is going through a rough patch with his wife, but things are pretty solid at the moment.  And they were together yesterday at the Spanish premiere of "The Dark Knight" in Barcelona.
--Then there's the HEATH LEDGER thing.  Bale has reportedly been depressed since Heath died back in January.
--The source says, quote, "He expected to share this moment with his friend, and now he can't."
--Meanwhile, TMZ is saying that Christian's mother might have been TRYING to force some kind of story to happen on Sunday night . . . so she could PROFIT FROM IT.
--Supposedly, tabloids are already making big money offers to Christian's mother and sister for their side of the story.
--But sources close to Christian say there ISN'T a story in the first place.  They claim nobody fell or was injured during Christian's so-called "assault" . . . and it's likely that police won't end up filing any charges against him.

BRAD PITT and his attorneys have sent threatening letters to various media outlets, threatening to unleash LEGAL FISTS OF FURY upon anyone who publishes paparazzi pictures taken of him and his family at their French estate.
--Brad says the pictures were secretly taken with, quote, "highly powerful telephoto lenses", and are an invasion of the family's privacy.
--We don't know for sure, but the pictures in question MIGHT include one that Brad's been taking a lot of heat for . . . in which Brad is riding around in a little outdoor vehicle with his 2-year-old daughter Shiloh unsecured on his lap.
--The vehicle in question appears to be a Yamaha Rhino or something similar.  It's a pretty powerful 4x4 that looks kind of like a tricked-out golf cart.  It's got a decent engine in it, and the word is that Brad was doing about 20 miles per hour at the time.
--A picture of this was actually up yesterday on the website of a British tabloid, but they mysteriously took the page down . . . which probably means they got the cease-and-desist order, too.

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS shot his guest appearance for the upcoming season of "Sesame Street".  And get this:  He plays a SHOE FAIRY.  (!!!)
--Actually, he's not a shoe fairy.  He says he's a, quote, "FAIRY SHOE PERSON".
--He explains, quote, "It's quite a different connotation.  I was asked by 'Sesame Street' to be a part of a song and I just leapt at the opportunity.  It's one demographic that I have yet to win over."

Last year, the "National Enquirer" tried to break a story about JOHN EDWARDS having a pregnant mistress.  It didn't really go anywhere.  But they're still at it.
--Now, the "Enquirer" is claiming that Edwards had a secret rendezvous with both his mistress and their love child Monday night at the Beverly Hilton . . . and it lasted well into the next morning.
--The woman in question is a divorcee by the name of RIELLE HUNTER.  She reportedly went to the Hilton first, and reserved two rooms under an assumed name.  One was for her and Edwards . . . and the other was for the baby, who was being watched by a male friend.
--Edwards arrived at the hotel at 9:45 P.M., entering via a side entrance.  At around 2:40 A.M., he tried to sneak out by taking an elevator straight to the hotel's basement.  But when the doors opened, Edwards was reportedly greeted by several reporters.
--The "Enquirer" says, quote, "Shocked to see a reporter, and without saying anything, Edwards ran up the stairs leading from the hotel basement to the lobby.  But, spotting a photographer, he doubled back into the basement.
--"As he emerged from the stairwell, [a reporter] questioned him about his hookup with Rielle.
--"Edwards did not answer and then ran into a nearby restroom.  He stayed inside for about 15 minutes, refusing to answer questions about what he was doing in the hotel.
--"A group of hotel security men eventually escorted him from the men's room, while preventing the 'National Enquirer' reporters from following him out of the hotel."
--The "Enquirer" originally made these allegations last December, when Rielle was still pregnant.  Edwards denied them, and shortly thereafter, a close friend of his . . . one Andrew Young . . . came forward and claimed to be the father of Rielle's unborn child.
--Young was married at the time . . . and is STILL married.  Of course, the "Enquirer" says that was just a cover-up.  They even claim that Rielle has had dinner with Young AND HIS WIFE since all of this happened.
--There's been no word yet from Edwards on this insanity.  (--John and his wife Elizabeth have been married since 1977.  Elizabeth is currently battling breast cancer for a SECOND time.  She beat it once already, in 2004.)
